The Somaia farm came from a family inheritance and we could not do anything else but to give it a new life: organic farm, holiday farm, wine and olive oil production, nature trails and much more.

For more than 20 years, we have accompanied lodging with the organic farming activity in full line with our idea of eco-sustainability. Thanks to this, we’ve been able to accommodate all kinds of guests with different needs.

The structure is spread over more than 20 hectares, divided into various organic productions: olive trees, orchards, medicinal and ornamental herbs, hay fields, woods and nature sceneries.

We also have a small natural pond: it is a good source to water the animals that usually frequent our land such as porcupines, badgers, deers, boars, and to ensure the reproduction of amphibians.

Between this crossroads of regions and pure lands, we are open all year round, offering a cuisine inspired by tradition but also natural and vegan, always with our own little touch of inspiration and imagination!

Our agriturismo consists of two traditional houses and a large surrounding area of ​​land and woods.

Located in a privileged position in a natural amphitheater, it is possible to admire the wonderful panorama of the surrounding valley in complete privacy.

THE MAIN HOUSE

An ancient house, dating back to at least 1400 (as evidenced by the maps kept in the Vatican museum that indicate the presence of the house in the exact point where it is now) it was restored in detail, respecting the original structure and materials with meticulous attention, under the control of the Superintendency of Artistic and Cultural Heritage of Umbria and according to the current anti-seismic criteria in 2012. The house as a whole currently consists of 7 rooms, a large common room, a breakfast room, a bathroom, a cellar, a lounge, a small shop where you can buy our products and a laundry for private use. The whole house is surrounded by a large garden with spaces both sunny and shaded by trees, with benches, tables and large stones to sit on.

THE FARMHOUSE

Also an ancient house, the farmhouse dates back to 1700 as evidenced by some stones found during the works that bear dates. It was restored in detail, respecting the original structure and materials with meticulous attention, under the control of the Superintendency of Artistic and Cultural Heritage of Umbria according to current anti-seismic standards in 2006.

It currently consists of 4 apartments, a large breakfast room, a bathroom that can be used by guests, a pantry for private use, the kitchen we use to prepare breakfast, the reception, and a laundry that can also be used on request by our guests. Externally there is a covered shed with a woodfired oven and a well.

The whole house is surrounded by our flower garden which is enriched by many trees in the shade of which you can relax lying on deck chairs or sitting on benches and enjoy the breath-taking views of the entire valley.
